ANC’s in general

ANC’s benefit entire communities and regions  that Congress and others recognize as economically and socially disadvantaged. In 2004, ANC’s paid out over $27Million in dividends from profits of federal contracts and donated $4.9Million to native community cultural and social support programs. In addition $1.2M was donated to support other shareholder programs and over $540 Thousand was donated to non-native community needs. Scholarship outlays total $14 million over the five year period ending in 2004.

ANC’s have created almost 28,000 jobs nationwide.

Chenega Corporation

Chenega Corporation has consistently lead the way in supporting and developing programs, projects and activities for the economic, social and cultural well being of all shareholders and descendants:

Economically the Corporation has been able to continue to grow shareholder equity with a view for providing support for shareholder children and children’s children. The Corporation has distributed dividends from operations and irrevocable trusts consistently and in increasing amounts.

Currently providing Internships and vocational training  for 24 individuals to enable them to grow personally and professionally in a wide array of occupations, trades

Providing employment and employment assistance to over half of our eligible people

Provided scholarships to 24 individuals over the past four years and underwritten endowments to the University Of Alaska and Alaska Pacific University

Providing funeral and burial assistance to shareholders and family members

Proving alcohol and drug abuse counseling as well as  in-patient /out-patient treatment

Undertaking a comprehensive language preservation program

Capturing the Chenega People’s history in oral dialogue

Supporting Russian Orthodox Church Capital Projects

Providing support to master planning, construction, operation and maintenance, administration and livelihood requirements of the Village of Chenega Bay
